Find food

We distribute food to 140 food banks, shelters, soup kitchens, and meal programs. We're not a food bank ourselves, but we can help you find support.

Food banks and meal programs are here to help
Food banks and meal programs are available in communities across the province. If you need food, visit ns.211.ca or call 211. They’re available 24/7 to help connect you with resources in your community. You can also use our Find Food tool below for information on food banks and meal programs. If you've never accessed support, learn more about what to expect.

COVID-19 Food Box program has ended
Feed Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 Food Box program ended on August 15, 2022. It was a short-term initiative that provided home delivery of food to Nova Scotians who needed food support and couldn't access a food bank or other food support program.

To help fill the gap, Feed Nova Scotia will give extra support to a number of food banks to provide extra support to those who continue to face barriers to accessing food banks or meal programs. Please visit ns.211.ca or call 211. Their Community Resource Navigators will do their best to help you find food support in your community.

Find a food bank or other food support program near you.

Where you access a food bank is based on where you live. If you are accessing a location for the first time or don’t see an agency near you, please call 211 for support.
