2020 "Best of" Holiday Parade of Lights

The Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights presented by Eastlink will look a little different this year.

Due to restrictions on public gatherings, there won't be an in-person parade, but many of the other traditions that provide benefit to the community will live on, including the annual fundraiser for Feed Nova Scotia.

On Nov. 21, 2020 at 6 p.m., Eastlink Community TV will broadcast a special “Best of” Holiday Parade of Lights giving viewers an opportunity to kick off the holiday season in traditional fashion, albeit modified. Enjoy highlights from parades past from the comfort of home on Eastlink Channel 10 or 610 or at participating local businesses and restaurants televising the special presentation.

Make a donation here and keep the tradition of parade donations alive!

Throughout the broadcast, you'll see some virtual surprises, including a special appearance by parade marshal, Dr. Robert Strang.

In partnership with the Downtown Halifax and Spring Garden Area Business Commissions, participating restaurants will be encouraged to stream the parade and ask customers to provide a donation to Feed Nova Scotia as an addition to their bill.

If you choose to enjoy the broadcast from home on Eastlink Community TV, consider takeout from one of the province’s many exceptional food establishments in support of local business, to add to the watch-from-home experience.

To find out what establishments will be participating, follow the hashtag #FeedHPOL on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
