Help for the holidays

We want to make every Nova Scotian can enjoy the comforts of the holiday season this year, so we're thrilled to hear from so many of you already wondering how you can lend a hand.

Providing a little extra comfort at Christmas, over and above our year-long, regular distribution of food to our 145 member agencies across the province, is a big job, so we've outlined a few ways you can help out:

  • Donate funds.
The impact of the financial support we receive during the holiday season is huge. It helps us pay for turkeys and distribute Christmas hampers, and provides critical operational funds that sustain our regular food support during the winter months.

  • Donate food.
Take a look at our most-needed food list.

  • Check out a community event.
There are lots of great things happening in the community over the holiday season in support of Feed Nova Scotia. Check our event listing regularly and see how you can get involved.

  • Buy wine.
Purchase a case of wine through our annual fundraiser, Case of Compassion.

  • Give your time.
Connect with us and see what volunteer opportunities are available.

  • Remember us in the New Year.
One of the best things you can do this holiday season is commit to supporting us all year long. Hunger isn’t seasonal and neither is our work. Help ensure Nova Scotians have food throughout the year by signing up for give12, our monthly donation program.

We hope you'll share this list with friends and family and visit our blog throughout November and December. We'll be posting updates on our holiday efforts, highlighting community stories of support, and sharing how your awesome contributions are making an impact!
